Security Best Practices
The safest way to begin using XColdPro is to create a fresh wallet inside the application. This generates a new seed phrase that has never been exposed to any online environment, any browser, or any other software.
For All Users
XColdPro provides the same level of protection regardless of where it is installed. Whether it runs from your system drive, an external USB drive, or an XdRiP hardware device — wallet data is protected by the same encryption, the same stealth storage, and the same memory sanitization.
NEVER import a seed phrase into XColdPro from any other wallet except XColdPro itself. NEVER import from MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Trust Wallet, Phantom, Exodus, Ledger, Trezor, or any other wallet. NEVER put your XColdPro seed phrase into any browser wallet, web3 wallet, online wallet, extension, mobile wallet, desktop wallet, or hardware wallet for any reason.
If you want to move digital assets from another wallet into XColdPro, create a brand new wallet inside XColdPro and let XColdPro generate a fresh seed phrase. Then send your assets from the old wallet to your new XColdPro receiving addresses through normal on-chain transactions.
For Advanced Users
- SeedVault should be configured before enabling the optional BlackHole duress layer
- If BlackHole will be used, follow the licensed user manual before creating the wallet — the setup order matters
- USB Binding locks the wallet to one specific physical drive
- Citadel Protocol requires multiple independent approvals before broadcast
The strongest practice: Create the seed inside XColdPro. NEVER import any seed from any other wallet. Set up SeedVault shares. If you use BlackHole, follow the licensed user manual. Keep SentinelGuard active. Never let the seed touch any other software.
