Create Your First Wallet
HD wallet architecture (BIP-39/BIP-44) — one seed, unlimited addresses across 22+ networks.
Step 1: Start Wallet Creation
Click "Create New Wallet" or press Ctrl+N / Cmd+N. Enter wallet name (e.g. "Bitcoin Long-Term Holdings").
Step 2: Choose Seed Phrase Length
- 12 words (128-bit entropy) — sufficient for holdings under $500K, easier to backup
- 24 words (256-bit entropy) — maximum security for institutional holdings, regulatory compliance
Step 3: Optional BIP-39 Passphrase ("25th Word") Adds extra entropy to key derivation. Different passwords unlock different wallets from same seed (dual-vault mode). Lost password = lost wallet permanently.
Step 4: Generate & Select Networks Click "Generate Seed Phrase" (entropy collection ~2–3 seconds). Select blockchain networks to activate (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, etc.).
Step 5: Write Down Seed Phrase — IMMEDIATELY Pen and paper ONLY. Permanent ink. Include word numbers. Verify each word. This is your ONLY backup — see Seed Phrase Backup for full procedure.
Step 6: Verify Seed Phrase XColdPro prompts you to confirm random words from your seed. Enter correctly to prove your backup is accurate. Wallet creation completes.
Seed Phrase Is Your Only Recovery Method. There is no "forgot password" button. No customer support recovery. If you lose your seed phrase and your device is destroyed, your crypto is permanently gone. Write it down NOW and store securely.
