The Library's Encyclopedia is the Universe's explanatory layer: comprehensive guides, documentation and knowledge resources curated by the archivists. It is the collection that translates dense reference material into something a reader can actually work through, and it is the right destination whenever the Codex has the facts but not the explanation. Featured entries include a knowledge guide to the Xdripian Codex itself, the Grimorium Arcana knowledge base, the Automaton Quaternary Code, the Elysian Time System technical reference, and The Twelve Tablets.
Why it exists separately from the Codex
The Codex states; the Encyclopedia explains. A Codex category will tell you that the Elysian time system exists and list its records. The Encyclopedia's technical reference guide tells you how to use it. That division keeps the encyclopedia records terse and citable while giving readers somewhere to learn.
The entries worth knowing about
Two are near-essential. The Elysian Time System technical reference is the source for any exact dating question. The Automaton Quaternary Code entry is the best available introduction to the Mechanum and Cyberion domain, which is otherwise easy to bounce off. The Twelve Tablets and the Grimorium Arcana knowledge base cover the magical and legal corpora in the same spirit.
Citing an Encyclopedia entry
These are guides maintained by the Library, and they are the correct citation for how a system works. For the individual records a system applies to, cite the Codex.
Reading the Encyclopedia guide before the Codex category is almost always faster than the reverse, however counterintuitive that feels.
