Chronicles, News and Narrative Updates

Chronicles is the Library's news and updates collection: the latest developments, announcements and stories from a Universe that is still being written. It sits at the near end of the same timeline the Codex documents at its far end — which gives it a double character. Some entries are project news, some are in-world narrative, and the collection does not always announce which is which as loudly as a reader in a hurry might like.

Three kinds of entry

Project news — something has been published, released or changed. Narrative update — something has happened in the Universe. Editorial writing — reflection on the work itself. Read the register before citing: a narrative chronicle is a story, and quoting it as an announcement misrepresents both.

Chronicles elsewhere

The word appears in two other places, and they are different things. The Chronicle of Rulers is a Codex category recording sovereigns and their acts. Council Chronicles are the City Council's official proclamations from the governance chambers. Library Chronicles are neither.

Where development status actually lives

For whether a feature exists, the portal's Changelog is the record and the Roadmap is the intent. A chronicle entry may announce something; those two pages are what maintain it.

Chronicles is a running collection. Any statement about "the latest" is true only on the day it is read, which is why this guide describes the collection rather than summarising its contents.
